“Be happy and aim high”
On Friday 3RD November all the children and staff at Lambourne Primary school completed their Memory walk for Alzheimer’s. In the morning we had an assembly explaining about the charity and why we were doing the walk. Then in the afternoon we began the walk around our school field. The children completed laps along with the staff and had a thoroughly good time, after which they received a sticker and a bottle of water each.
Many of the staff at Lambourne primary school have loved ones who are suffering or have suffered with this awful illness. We wanted to do this together to raise awareness and to help raise funds for more research so hopefully one day it'll allow us all to have a world without dementia.
We were overwhelmed by the response we had from the children, their parents and families supporting this event. In total we have raised in excess of £2800 online and cash donations in school. We are extremely proud of the children’s understanding and compassion of the illness.
